The main cause the water pollution is deposing of sewage waste. The sewage waste contains feces, urine and chemical wastes which released by millions of people every day. In develop countries, most people have flush toilets that take sewage waste quickly and hygienically away from their homes. Hence, sewage can be more problematic when people flush chemicals and pharmaceutical substances down the toilets. In early 2012, it was reported that the tiny island of Guernsey (between Britain and France) has decided to continue dumping 16,000 tons of raw sewage into the sea each day. The sewage will carry viruses into the environment. It is possible to catch illnesses such as hepatitis, typhoid, and cholera from river and sea water.

With two thirds of the earth's surface covered by water and the human body consisting of 75 percent of it, it is evidently clear that water is one of the prime elements responsible for life on earth. Water circulates through the land just as it does through the human body, transporting, dissolving, and replenishing nutrients and organic matter, while carrying away waste material. Further in the body, it regulates the activities of fluids, tissues, cells, lymph, blood and glandular secretions.
